WHITE Milano.

WHITE. Fashion Has Reclaimed the City

Milan experienced a different atmosphere during the latest Fashion Week. Along Via Tortona, from September 24 to 27, the buzz typical of major cultural hubs filled the air thanks to the new WHITE, which transformed the entire district into a laboratory, even beyond the usual exhibition hours.
The event broke down the traditional boundaries between the business world and the general public with talks, live podcasts, pop-ups, and evening events, alongside the usual B2B activities, attracting visitors and bringing a wave of fresh energy to the neighborhood. This openness to the end consumer (B2C) was supported by institutions—the City of Milan, the Lombardy Region, MAECI, the ICE Agency, and Confartigianato Imprese—and reinforced by the strategic alliance with BolognaFiere-Cosmoprof, designed to propel the format toward further international milestones.
With a total attendance of approximately 9,000 industry professionals, the results confirmed the strategy’s success, recording a 24% increase in exhibitors (450 brands) compared to the previous edition. To accommodate such a rich lineup, two new hubs—T31 (focused on beauty, accessories, and lifestyle) and T35 (focused on resortwear)—were added to the redesigned historic spaces T27 and T54, in addition to the thematic sections Nuvola and Box.

The event’s appeal is also reflected in the number of buyers in attendance, which rose by 10% from Italy and surged by as much as 15% from overseas—representatives of the most prestigious department stores and retailers, ranging from American giants like Bloomingdale’s to historic London destinations (Selfridges, Liberty), as well as Parisian shopping meccas (Le Bon Marché, Printemps), Asian luxury icons (Takashimaya, Hankyu), and leading global e-commerce platforms such as MyTheresa.com. There was also significant interest from the high-end hospitality sector, including Belmond and Rocco Forte Hotels.
A carefully curated mix of brands—spanning haute couture, design, and lifestyle—drew the international audience. As a special guest, the Korean brand KIMHĒKIM, founded by Kiminte Kimhekim—a classic tailoring house infused with experimental elements—led the selection.
But many other names from the global and Italian creative scenes also took center stage, from IBELIV handbags to DUHA footwear, to the sartorial designs of the Serbian brand Batakovic Belgrade; from Donde Esteban’s vibrant wardrobe to Vlisco’s unmistakable textile heritage and its wax prints. And then there’s Alessandro Enriquez, who seamlessly blends clothing and furniture; the avant-garde collections of Marcel Pustul; furniture designs by Qeeboo, Poltronova, Les Ottomans, and Giobagnara; and the Brazilian olfactory universe of the historic perfume house Granad.

The cosmopolitan nature of the event was underscored by the inclusion of projects carried out in collaboration with fashion weeks and internationalization agencies from countries such as Brazil, India, Armenia, Colombia, Romania, and Spain. The signing of the “Filiere d’Impatto” agreement with SIMEST charted a concrete course for financial support and growth for SMEs in the fashion sector.
“ The extensive work done on the show’s brand mix has led to a significant increase in the number of buyers, particularly those of international standing. WHITE is thus embarking on a new path, one that has already gotten off to the best possible start. At the same time, seeing this fresh, youthful energy enliven the entire Tortona area until late in the evening is a clear sign of how the change in format—with the introduction of B2C areas—has successfully engaged a broader audience. WHITE thus reaffirms itself as a project that remains youthful, innovative, and inclusive.” — Massimiliano Bizzi, Founder and President of WHITE
“Both for my brand, Faliero Sarti, and for the brands I’ve involved in the Monica & Friends project, I’m delighted to have contributed to a particularly vibrant edition of WHITE, marked by a significant increase in international buyers.” — Monica Sarti, Vice President of WHITE
