IJS Istanbul Jewelry Show Marks Its 60th Edition with Technology, Software and New Trends
Products and collections, but above all technology, software and new digital tools designed to transform the jewellery business. The 60th edition of IJS Istanbul Jewelry Show, taking place from 30 September to 3 October 2026 at the Istanbul Expo Center, is already looking ahead to 2027, focusing not only on trends but also on the innovation reshaping jewellery production and business management.
Recognised as one of the international “big five” jewellery trade shows, IJS places particular emphasis on its ability to connect supply and demand. This role is highlighted by Şermin Cengiz, co-founder of IJS Istanbul Jewelry Show, who sees the upcoming commercial season as one of the main drivers of the event.
“More than 18,000 buyers from around 120 countries will come to our show to conclude sourcing agreements for 2027. IJS will provide a significant boost to trade, both in the domestic market and internationally.”
Companies will use the Istanbul event to present their collections for the year ahead. Alongside the products themselves, however, the show will also focus on understanding new consumer behaviours and on technological innovation, two areas that are becoming increasingly interconnected.
WGSN, the international trend forecasting company, will outline emerging directions in design as part of the event’s programme of talks. Its presentation, “S/S 27 Jewelry Trends”, will offer an outlook on Spring/Summer 2027 by analysing consumer behaviour alongside developments in colours, materials, shapes and products.
The more creative side of the industry will take centre stage at the Designer Club, where international designers will present their latest collections to jewellery professionals from around the world. Art for Jewellery: Inspiration Hub will also return. Now an established feature of IJS, the space brings together jewellery, art and design, encouraging dialogue between creative research and product development.
And while trends and creativity point to how the jewellery of the future may evolve, another transformation is sweeping through the industry: technology.
The new face of the jewellery business is becoming increasingly embedded throughout the value chain, from production and inventory management to pricing, e-commerce and customer relations. According to Şermin Cengiz, this evolution is changing not only the tools companies use, but also the very way they do business.
“The jewellery industry is undergoing a significant transformation, not only in design and production, but also in the way companies operate,” Cengiz says. “Many processes are now being redefined by technology. At IJS, in addition to bringing the different segments of the industry together under one roof, we provide a platform for software and technology companies that support this transformation,” she explains. “The increase in the number of exhibitors operating in this field over recent years is also a clear indication of the industry’s growing interest in digital solutions.”
Announced exhibitors in this segment include Eksenova, Milyem Plus, Kuynet, Faturam Yolda, 22-Soft, Kivi, Sarraf Pro, Aifa Soft and Goldist Bilişim, with solutions designed to make business processes more efficient, faster and more measurable.
On the manufacturing side, IJS Tech, the pavilion dedicated to jewellery manufacturing machinery, will bring together equipment and systems aimed at making production more competitive.
It is precisely at the intersection of product, creativity, trend forecasting and technological innovation that IJS is building its perspective on the future of jewellery: from the pieces that will appear in tomorrow’s showcases to the digital tools that will be used to manage those same showcases, both physical and virtual.
