Numeri da record si attendono per la prossima Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair, che ha registrato una crescita notevole in termini di numero di espositori e visitatori nelle ultime edizioni.
La manifestazione, giunta al 73 esimo taglio del nastro, per rispondere alla forte domanda da parte di brand thailandesi e internazionali, vedrà un’area espositiva rinnovata e ampliata, includendo la Plenary Hall al Livello 1, così da ospitare oltre 200 stand aggiuntivi rispetto all’ultima kermesse. Sono attese 1.300 aziende, 2.800 stand totali, con espositori provenienti da oltre 20 Paesi e più di 45.000 visitatori.
Durante la conferenza stampa tenutasi qualche giorno fa, Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, Direttrice Generale del Dipartimento per la Promozione del Commercio Internazionale (DITP), tra i patron dell’evento, ha commentato:
“Negli ultimi 40 anni, la Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair ha rappresentato una forza trainante per il settore. Ha svolto un ruolo essenziale di connessione tra buyers e venditori, favorendo opportunità commerciali e partnership, e rafforzando la considerazione e il posizionamento internazionale nei confronti dei prodotti thailandesi, accelerandone le esportazioni. Oggi, la Thailandia può dire di aver raggiunto il suo obiettivo: diventare uno dei principali hub mondiali per il commercio di gemme e gioielli.”
Dello stesso avviso anche Boonyarit Kalayanamit, Presidente del Board del Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT):
“La Bangkok Gems riflette le forti capacità della Thailandia come centro manifatturiero leader, per l’artigianato e l’expertise nella lavorazione delle pietre di colore.” Affermazioni che trovano conferma nei dati: nei primi 11 mesi del 2025, le esportazioni nella categoria di gemme e gioielli (escluso l’oro grezzo) hanno raggiunto i 12,124 miliardi di USD, con una crescita di oltre il 53%.
La fiera, che sarà inaugurata da Sua Altezza Reale la Principessa Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya il 22 febbraio prossimo al Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, sarà arricchita anche da una mostra speciale di gioielli realizzati dai maestri artigiani thailandesi. Una rassegna che vuole sottolineare l’impegno della famiglia reale e del paese nel proseguire le iniziative della Regina Madre Sirikit, per conservare e valorizzare l’eredità artigianale thailandese.
Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair: the 73rd Edition Aims to Exceed USD 150 Million in Trade Value
Record-breaking figures are expected for the upcoming 73rd Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair, reflecting the event’s steady growth in exhibitors, visitors, and business opportunities.
To meet strong demand from both Thai and international participants, the organizers have expanded the exhibition space to include the Plenary Hall on Level 1, adding more than 200 additional booths. The fair is set to host around 1,300 companies, with over 2,800 booths from more than 20 countries, and is expected to welcome over 45,000 visitors.
During a recent press conference, Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), highlighted the fair’s key role over the past four decades in connecting global buyers and sellers and strengthening Thailand’s position as a leading hub for gems and jewelry.
Similarly, Boonyarit Kalayanamit, Chairman of the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (GIT), emphasized Thailand’s manufacturing excellence, particularly in craftsmanship and expertise in colored gemstones.
Export data confirm this momentum: in the first 11 months of 2025, Thailand’s gems and jewelry exports (excluding unwrought gold) reached USD 12.124 billion, marking growth of over 53%.
The fair will open on February 22, 2026, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, and will also feature a special exhibition showcasing jewelry crafted by Thailand’s master artisans.
